| When Do Non-Continuous Monitors Run? | ||
|
Non-continuous monitors only run under specific driving conditions. A trip, or driving cycle, is a sequenced set of driving conditions that permits all the available or supported monitors to run. The amount and type of driving needed varies with each vehicle. You may need to check with your dealer, repair facility or Ecology for the manufacturer's drive cycle for your vehicle. The monitors that have not yet run will be reported on the Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR) as "Not Ready." It is always a good idea to test your vehicle as early as possible after receiving your renewal notice in case of a delay such as this. An emission test is valid for 365 days, so you can have your test done whenever it is most convenient for you. |
