CORE ROLE: |
||
|
Perform the daily administrative activities associated with maintaining the Washington program Windows 2000/2003 network including Windows 2000/2003 administrative tasks, and general network support and guidance as required to maintain the enterprise network including hardware and software. |
||
|
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: |
||
|
Support all Washington locations to ensure network, host computer system, and individual PC’s are functioning optimally. |
||
|
Preventative Maintenance of the Washington program network, Windows 2000/2003 servers, Windows 2000/2003 application software (e.g. SQL, IIS, DNS, WINS, DHCP) and Windows 2000/2003 3rd party software on an enterprise scale. |
||
|
Available to troubleshoot problems after daily operational hours. |
||
|
Perform daily activities as listed below: |
||
|

||
|
||
|
Handle support requests for clients and internal staff regarding system support, applications support, connectivity issues, software installations, upgrades, etc. |
||
|
Work within a change management log system for ALL activities performed on enterprise level servers. |
||
|
Calmly and collectively perform disaster recovery procedures as necessary in a time-critical manner. |
||
|
Work with remote Corporate staff (in state of IL) to escalate complex issues. |
||
|
Recommend and implement new hardware and software for internal office solutions. |
||
|
Research and stay current on new technologies and techniques. |
||
|
Compose status reports, self-evaluation reports, proposals and performance reports for management. |
||
|
Maintain Nortel Phone System. |
||
|
Support Windows Server Clustering. |
||
|
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Technology or Program Manager. |
||
|
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: |
||
|
Possess an understanding of LAN and WAN concepts including, but not limited to: VPN, Routers, Switches and Hubs. |
||
|
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. |
||
|
Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and have superior organizational skills. |
||
|
Excellent proficiency in administration of Windows 2000/2003 Server, IIS 5.0 (Including Microsoft HTML and .ASP applications), DNS, WINS, DHCP, with an understanding of high availability concepts including clustering. |
||
|
Utilize queries written in Transact SQL and a familiarity with Microsoft .NET, .ASP, and HTML. Experience with third party backup and recovery packages is necessary. |
||
|
Knowledge of Hot-Swappable RAID devices, clustering, iSCSI, alert mechanisms and UPS |
||
|
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: |
||
|
Bachelors Degree in related field and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). |
||
|
Three to five (3-5) years of experience managing similar projects is required. |
||
|
Experience with Sonicwall firewalls and VPN a plus. |
||
|
Software experience should include the ability to utilize and modify queries written in Transact SQL and a familiarity with Microsoft .NET, .ASP, and HTML. Experience with third party backup and recovery packages is necessary. |
||
|
Hardware experience should include understanding of iSCSI, Hot-Swappable RAID devices, windows clustering, alert mechanisms and UPS. |
||
|
